Kindle 2.0 Review
Kindle 2.0 is the 2nd generation Amazon e-book reader. While the first Kindle was very impressive, the 2nd Kindle has been improved in many areas to make the Kindle even a better gadget. The new Kindle is not only more capable, but it’s thinner as well. Here is a short review of Kindle 2G:
- Size: Kindle 2.0 is just over 1/3 of an inch, as thin as most magazines. It is even thinner than your iPhone 3G!
- Lightweight: At 10.2 ounces, Kindle 2.0 is lighter than a typical paperback. The advantage over Kindle 1.0 is small but still worth noting.
- Wireless: 3G wireless lets you download books right from your Kindle, anytime, anywhere. There are no monthly fees, and you can get books delivered to your Kindle in less than 60 seconds. No more waiting for weeks for your books to come in mail.
- Books in Under 60 Seconds: Get books delivered in less than 60 seconds and buy right on your Kindle. Use the Kindle store to access over 200,000 titles available for your e-book reader.
- Improved Display: Kindle 2.0 now boasts 16 shades of gray for clear text and even crisper images. That is a major improvement over the first Kindle.
- Longer Battery Life: 25% longer battery life. You can leave the device on for 2 weeks now without having to recharge it (see the diagram).
- More Storage: You now have access to 2G of internal memory on your Kindle 2G. On a negative side, the SD slot has been removed, but with 2G of memory, you don’t have to worry too much about that.
- Faster Page Turns: 20% faster page turns over Kindle 1.0. It makes it more convenient to read books.
- Read-to-Me: The next big innovation by Amazon. Now your Kindle can read your books for you. With the new Text-to-Speech feature, Kindle 2.0 can read every book, blog, magazine, and newspaper out loud to you.
- Low Book Prices: that’s one of the biggest advantages of owning a Kindle. You get most your books for only $9.99. If you happen to read a lot of books on a monthly basis, the device will pay for it self in a few months.
- Control: Amazon has a more flexible control set on Kindle 2.0. Kindle 1.0 often complained about the buttons being in inconvenient places. The 2nd generation Kindle does not have problem.
Kindle 2.0 has been improved dramatically over the first Kindle. It uses the latest E-ink technology and a faster network to let you download documents fast. If you are looking for the best e-book reader on the market, you won’t find any better
